Rule #3: Don't stare at invisible faeries.
Aislinn has always seen faeries. Powerful and dangerous, they walk hidden in mortal world. Aislinn fears their cruelty especially if they learn of her Sight and wishes she were as blind to their presence as other teens.

Rule #2: Don't speak to invisible faeries.
Now faeries are stalking her. One of them, Keenan, who is equal parts terrifying and alluring, is trying to talk to her, asking questions Aislinn is afraid to answer.

Rule #1: Don't ever attract their attention.

But it's too late. Keenan is the Summer King who has sought his queen for nine centuries. Without her, summer itself will perish. He is determined that Aislinn will become the Summer Queen at any cost regardless of her plans or desires.
Suddenly none of the rules that have kept Aislinn safe are working anymore, and everything is on the line: her freedom; her best friend, Seth; her life; everything.

Faerie intrigue, mortal love, and the clash of ancient rules and modern expectations swirl together in Melissa Marr's stunning 21st century faery tale.

Lemme just start saying by...whoa...on a hole other level. I just feel in love with this book. Its dark, sure, wish isn't my thing, intense romance, still not my thing, a guy who can't take no for an answer and is over the top cocky WAY not my thing! But I enjoyed it immensely non the less. This book takes you in the minds of several characters through each chapter and I must say that my favorite is Aislinn, no nonsense type of girl, who is strong, a good friend and just awesome! I love her and the fact that she's not one to just fall head over heels for a guy just cause he's enigmatic, rich and downright handsome. She's tough and listens to the rules until she breaks one and all hell breaks loose, but she still toughs it out. I...love...HER!!!!! She's so true to life!

I rooted for Seth all the way, he's a pretty sweet guy, perfect to the point of being scary and almost unapproachable but still, quite likable and attractive. I just thought he would be perfect for Aislinn in a way and I really wish Keenan would just back off and stop being so annoyingly persistent. I thought Jacob Black was bad, but...then again...I can't decide between the two, but still, Keenan's definitely worse, if I had to pick. His motives are fishy and not cool. KNOCK HIM DOWN AISLINN!!!!!! XD LOL

The plot in itself doesn't feel cliche and introduces you to the more darker side of the Fey and what happens when you are drawn into their world. The setting plays well into the story and I do believe I will not take up clubbing anytime soon for all intensive purposes. It really captured the whole "things that go bump in the night" scene, and I've had a very pleasant experience visiting the clubs with the characters, which sounds fun compared to the one club I've been to which was drab and filled with elderly people, and back in the days music and..anywho...

I was attracted to the book cover, which I believe to be extremely beautiful and I have a penchant for covers with cupped outstretched  hands, holding random objects. The paper used for the cover is rather unusual and I don't know what it is exactly but I've never felt anything like it before.I think it just adds to the charm of the overall appearance though.

For me, the entire series seemed to be targeted for an audience who love deeply inclined romance and don't mind the whole sexual tension and references throughout. Or the swearing or the gore (I love gore xp) or the relationships that build up to the point of exploding or are just plain confusing. All in all the book was awesome, I enjoyed it immensely and I think I might be just a little depressed when the world is finally closed away.
